Questions!

Do I need an appointment to see the doctor?

It is best to schedule an appointment, especially if you would prefer to see the optometrist on a particular day or time. Same day appointments are sometimes available. Give us a call to check availability. You may call us at (912) 489-6655

How often should I have my eyes examined?

The Vision Council of America recommends yearly eye exams. This is important for early detection of many diseases that left untreated could greatly compromise your visual health. In the state of Georgia all contact lens prescriptions are good for only one year, so yearly exams are required for all contact lens wearers.

Can I get my glasses back the same day?

We do lens edging in our office and can have most single vision glasses ready the same day.  All bifocal, trifocal and progressive lenses have to be ordered from our wholesale lab.  We have most glasses ready within 2-3 days. Wrap sunglasses, drill mount glasses and some coatings can take a little longer.

 How much are glasses?

There is no easy way to answer that question. Frame prices can vary by manufacturer and materials. Lenses can also vary greatly in price based on the materials used and the design of lenses needed such as bifocal, trifocal and progressive lenses. It is best to come by the store, let us look at your prescription, and then discuss your needs so we can give you a price quote.

Can I use my own frame?

Using an old frame for new lenses is generally not a good idea since they are more prone to break during the life time of the new lenses. With that said, if your frame is in good mechanical order with no visible defects we can put your lenses into it.

Do you have my contacts in stock?

Due to the wide variety of contact lens brands and the many power combinations we are unable to stock  contacts. It is recommended that you plan ahead and order your new supply of contacts prior to using your last pair. We receive most contact lens orders from our distributors within 1-5 business days. In the state of Georgia all contact lens prescriptions expire one year from the date of exam.

 How much are contacts?

Contact lens prices vary by manufacture, materials and design. Call us with the brand you wear and we will be happy to give you a price.

Can I bring in my prescription from another doctor?

Yes, we can fill any valid doctor’s prescription for glasses or contact lenses.

Do you carry colored contacts without a prescription?

We can get colored contacts with no prescription in them but, you are still required to be examined by an eye doctor to be fitted in contacts. Contact lenses are medical devices regulated by the FDA. In order to purchase them you must have a valid written prescription from an eye doctor. Wearing a contact lens that has not been assessed on your eye can lead to serious complications and in some cases can lead to blindness. You should never wear contacts that have not been prescribed for you.

Where are you located?

We are located in front of Lowe’s in Statesboro, Georgia. If you are on the bypass you will turn east on HWY 80. At the large Lowe’s sign turn right. Look to your left and you will see our store at the end of the strip center.
